On the eve of New Year's Eve, we started discussing the dishes for the New Year's Eve dinner. Everyone wanted to eat the chicken wings with Sansi and Coke that my sister made during the New Year last year. In addition, my sister prepared a new dish "Glutinous Rice and Lotus Root" for us. This is a dessert dish where glutinous rice is soaked until soft enough to be crushed, then filled with lotus root holes and pressed with sugar water in a pressure cooker for an hour and a half. Finally, take out the cooked lotus roots and let them cool, then pour the juice from the sugar water on the lotus root slices. It is so beautiful and delicious! During the preparation process, everyone had a clear division of labor. My sister seasoned, Yu Fei cut the vegetables, and I washed them. Auntie even prepared a big table of delicious food for us! Although busy, we are all very happy. Especially when eating New Year’s Eve dinner, when you feel the deliciousness of each dish! The New Year brings a new atmosphere.
