新年 Happy Lunar Year

“爆竹声中一岁除,春风送暖入屠苏。”在这个辞旧迎新的日子里,虽不似中国那样张灯结彩,走街串巷般的热闹,我却能体会到加拿大独特的年味。除夕前夕,我们就开始商讨年夜饭的菜肴,大家都想吃姐姐去年过年时做的拌三丝和可乐鸡翅。除此之外,姐姐又为我们准备了一道新的菜肴“糯米莲藕”。这是一道甜品菜,将糯米浸泡软至能碾碎,然后将其灌满藕孔,在高压锅中用糖水压一个半小时。最后将煮好的藕取出晾凉,将糖水收汁淋于藕片上,真是即好看又好吃!在准备过程中大家分工明确,姐姐调味,雨霏切菜,我洗菜。阿姨更是为我们准备了一大桌美食!虽然忙碌,但我们都很开心。尤其在吃年夜饭时,在感受那一道道菜肴的美味时!新年新气象,希望我们大家在新的一年中心想事成、万事胜意,越来越好!

This is a dessert dish where glutinous rice is soaked until soft enough to be crushed, then filled with lotus root holes and pressed with sugar water in a pressure cooker for an hour and a half. Finally, take out the cooked lotus roots and let them cool, then pour the juice from the sugar water on the lotus root slices. It is so beautiful and delicious! During the preparation process, everyone had a clear division of labor. My sister seasoned, Yu Fei cut the vegetables, and I washed them. Auntie even prepared a big table of delicious food for us! Although busy, we are all very happy. Especially when eating New Year’s Eve dinner, when you feel the deliciousness of each dish! The New Year brings a new atmosphere. I hope that in the New Year all our dreams will come true, everything will be successful, and we will get better and better!
