Ask us about our popular"MATH BRIDGE"
Cambridge offers tutoring services for full-time, part-time and mature students from grades 1-12 for all subjects. All of our tutors are certified teachers who specialize in the subject area being taught.
We are currently offering 2 tutoring options:
Individualized Tutoring
Students work one-on-one with a certified teacher who specializes in the subject area. This option is suitable for students who require intense help in a certain subject area.
Small Group Individualized Tutoring
Students work in a small group setting with a certified teacher who specializes in the subject area. At a lower cost, this option allows students a balance of individual help from the teacher while also being given time to complete work on their own.
Skill-Building Courses
In addition to subject tutoring, we also offer a variety of other services that will enhance your child’s specific learning needs through a series of assessments and individualized programming. These services are designed to help the student cope with specific aspects of academics in order to achieve greater success in secondary and post-secondary education.
- Initial Testing and Evaluation C.A.T. (Canadian Achievement Test)
We employ only standardized Canadian tests. As a means of monitoring student progress, we issue the Canadian Achievement Test (C.A.T.) initially, then re-issue the test at various intervals throughout the year. This test along with other assessment tools helps to provide meaningful feedback on a students achievement and keeps us accountable for their progress.
- Building Study Skills
Many strong students with great academic potential struggle with their marks because of a lack of good study habits for tests and exams. Entering high school, and the anxiety and pressure surrounding exams can greatly affect a child’s confidence. Our study skills programme combines effective study skills with exam-writing skills that will help students throughout their academic career. The program is designed to help even the most capable students improve their test and exam marks as they continue their path into post-secondary education.
- Foundation Skills: Math
"Self-confidence, clarity of thinking and an understanding of the relationships between numbers are the keys to success in math.”
Having basic and fundamental mathematical skills for everyday life is one of the most important keys to success. However, many students fall behind in the elementary system, and find it nearly impossible to catch up in high school. Taught by a certified math teacher, our Foundation Math Skills program works with students who lack the understanding of basic problem solving functions that are having a negative impact on their self-esteem and academics in high school. The program is designed to improve the student’s self-confidence in math, which will improve their ability to problem-solve in all aspects of life, whether or not they plan to pursue math in the future.
- Foundation Skills: English
English is a subject that will follow a child from the beginning of their education and throughout their life. Reading, writing and communication skills are part of the everyday functions that we take for granted. This is why many students struggle with English in high school. The Foundation Skills programme is designed to help students with strategies for effective writing, content reading and comprehension, grammar and vocabulary that will be invaluable to their education and everyday communication.
